Canadian ISPs: Usage Based Billing
Feb 1st
A lot of talk has been surfacing lately about major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) changing their policies on bandwidth usage for both residential and business customers. Usage Based Billing has been approved by the Canadian Radio-television & Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) for major providers (ILECs)- MTS Allstream, Shaw, Telus, and Rogers. What are your thoughts on metering your internet usage? In a day where we have come to embrace technology as a part of our daily lives (specifically the internet), it seems like this move could be a critical factor in limiting how society has already changed.

Firefox 3.5.7 Memory Leak
Jan 16th
I’ve been experiencing a lot of issues with Firefox on my laptop lately, here I am thinking it’s just an underpowered laptop… After actually looking into it, it appears that Firefox is using outrages amounts memory ( 250MB+ with two tabs open). After quickly googling it, it appears that it’s a known issue for users…no remedy is available yet from Mozilla. Looks like I will have to resort to an earlier version in the interim.
Affected operating systems appear to be everything from XP right up to W7 (what I’m running).
